New to Using Computers?
If you are new to using computers, then you will want to review some free online tutorials that cover the basics. An excellent place to start is the GCF Learn Free website. This site has tutorials that cover an understanding of computer hardware, what various buttons and ports do on a computer, the difference between different types of computers, understanding how to start using a computer, staying safe on the Internet, and many more helpful topics.
Learning the Windows Operating System
When you are ready to understand all that the Windows operating system can help you with, then you may want to use the tutorials on the Home and Learn website. The tutorials review how to perform many common tasks like changing your screen background, the Windows 10 Start Menu, voice search, appropriate privacy settings, and many other topics.
Learning How to Code
If you want to start learning how to program (code) or learn about spreadsheets and word processors, then Home and Learn is the website for you. Each tutorial is targeted for the beginner and will help you understand computers so that you can use them to your advantage.

Need a Computer?
The City of Moreno Valley is partnering with the Community Action Partnership (CAP) of Riverside County to distribute refurbished computers to those who need assistance. The program is called Tech for Success.
Program Requirements
- Household income must be less than 200% of the federal poverty level.
- Applicants must take two online workshops to prepare for success online.

To request a free computer, download the application form and send your completed form to Monica Santana from CAP at mosantana@capriverside.org or by calling 951.955.4900.

Tech for Success is an ongoing program and the availability of computers fluctuates, so submit your application soon for the best opportunity to receive a free computer.
