Notice of Election

The candidate nomination period closed Wednesday, August 15. Here is the  Qualified Candidate Log.

A General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Moreno Valley on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the following officers and measure:

  • City Wide - Mayor – Full Two-year Term
  • District 2: Council Member – Full Four-year Term
  • District 4: Council Member – Full Four-year Term
  • MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON:
    Local Moreno Valley Commercial Cannabis Activity Tax. Shall an ordinance be adopted maintaining safe, clean public areas/improving local services including neighborhood police patrols, fire, 911 response; gang, youth violence prevention, after-school programs; combat robberies/burglaries; repair potholes; unrestricted general revenue purposes; by establishing a tax not exceeding 8% of gross receipts /$15 per square foot for cultivation, generating approximately $2,200,000 annually until ended by voters, with independent audits, public review, all funds used locally?

Voter Registration and
Vote By Mail Information

Registering to Vote

If you are not yet registered to vote and you wish to do so, you may do so securely by visiting: registertovote.ca.govYou must register to vote by October 22, 2018 in order to participate in the election.

Voting and Polling Place Information

You may vote in person on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6 from 7 am–8 pm For your polling place and sample ballot, visit the Riverside County Voter Registrar.

Voting By Mail

Ballots for Vote-By-Mail voters will be sent out starting October 8th. If you have not received your ballot by October 15th, please call the Riverside County Elections Department at: (951) 486-7200.

If you are voting by mail, your ballot must be postmarked on or by Election Day (November 6th). Your Ballot must be received by November 9th in order to be counted

Your completed mail ballot may be returned to any Riverside County Polling Place on Election Day from 7am to 8pm. 

If you are not a Vote-by-Mail voter, and you wish to become one, you may request a Vote-by-Mail ballot by visiting: voteinfo.netYou must request your Vote-by-Mail ballot on or by October 30, 2018.
